Train Mourns Death of Founding Member Charlie Colin

Train is mourning the death of one of its founding members.

Charlie Collin dies at the age of 58 when he slipped and fell in the shower. The musician’s mother informed tmz He died on Wednesday. Shortly after the news broke, Colin’s former pop rock band released an emotional tribute to him.

“When I met Charlie Collin, front left, I fell in love with him,” Train wrote in the caption. Instagram Post. “He was the sweetest guy and what a beautiful guy. Let’s make a band which is the only reasonable thing to do.”

Collin founded the San Francisco-based band in the 90s with Pat Monahan, Rob Hotchkiss, Jimmy Stafford and Scott Underwood. The bassist left the group in 2003, the year after Train earned two Grammy Awards.

Train added, “His unique bass playing and beautiful guitar playing helped people notice us in SF and beyond. I’ll always have a warm place in my heart for him. I always tried to pull him closer to me but he had a dream 😉 You’re a legend, Charlie, go beat the pants off those angels❤️🙏🏼 ⭐️.”

Musicians flooded the comments with supportive words.

Butch Walker wrote, “Man I didn’t know he passed away. I’m so sad about that.”

“So sad 😞 I enjoyed him,” commented Jesse Fincher. “We had a lot of fun and laughter during our tour in the early stages. I met him in Santa Monica a few years ago and immediately began laughing, joking and telling stories as if no time had been lost. I am so sad to hear the news.”

“He was an amazing person and very kind to me and my band mates. Sending love,” Andrew McMahon wrote.

According to Colin’s mother, he was sitting at home in Brussels, Belgium when the accident happened. She said that when his friends returned home earlier this month, they found Colin dead tmzIt’s unclear what caused Colin’s fall.

Collin’s mother remembered her son as a “beautiful human being,” the outlet wrote.
