Trevor St. John Exits ‘The Young and the Restless’ After 2 Years

Trevor St. John is saying goodbye the young and the Restless,

After two years playing eccentric billionaire Tucker McCall on the CBS soap opera — a role he took over from Stephen Nichols, who left the show in 2013 — St. John, 52, announced he was leaving the show. In a tweet on Tuesday.

“Dear #Year @YandR_CBS @YRInsider #the young and the Restless Fans: As you well know, Tuckers come and go, and the cycle continues… This Tucker is on his last legs…” the actor wrote in a message to his 18,000 followers.

The role of Trevor McCall was originated in 2009 by William Russ – who was replaced by Nichols after only a few weeks of playing the role – and later in the early going it was revealed that he is the son of Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper). Throughout his tenure, the character has been known for his notable relationship with Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) on the show.

Continuing her message of gratitude on X (formerly Twitter), St. John thanked everyone on set and at home for their support over the years.

“I want to thank the amazing cast, crew, directors, producers and production staff and everyone at CBS/Sony for such a wonderful experience from day one to the last. I feel so blessed to have played such a wonderful character,” St. John added in a follow-up tweet.

Actors who appeared on the show one Life to Live — concluded his message, writing, “Most importantly, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to you.” […] #the young and the Restless Fans. Thank you!”

St. John’s messages were met with dismay by fans of the show, who expressed their sadness but also wished the actor all the best for his next ventures.

“Oh no. Now I’m totally disappointed. Loved watching you on Y&R! Looking forward to seeing other projects you work on!” gushed one follower wrote,

“You are an amazing and phenomenal actor and we will miss you so much on YnR. Keep the success going to an incredible actor. Love you,” another shared In reply.

The departure comes just months after St. John made her feature film directorial debut A good dayThe film is a remake of the film, which he co-wrote and co-stars in. The film is “the story of a man facing his imminent death” and attempting to use his final days to make human connections with the people in his life from whom he had distanced himself after a tragedy, according to the film’s director. Summary,

A good day, which has been highly praised and rave reviews from critics and audiences alike, and even from stars to encourage alumnus Sherri Saum. It’s currently streaming for free on Tubi.
