United States Hosts PRC Special Envoy for Climate Change – United States Department of State

On May 8-9, the United States will host Liu Zhenmin, the Special Envoy of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) for Climate Change, in Washington, DC, for a meeting of the Bilateral Working Group on Scaling Up Climate Action in 2020 , which aims to accelerate concrete action. The meeting will focus on the areas identified in the Sunnylands Statement, including the energy transition, methane and other non-CO2 greenhouse gases, circular economy and resource efficiency, low carbon and sustainable provinces/states and cities, and deforestation, among others.
