United States Welcomes Lithuania’s Signing of the Artemis Accords – United States Department of State

Lithuania became the 40th signatory to the Artemis Agreement at a ceremony held in Vilnius on 15 May. The Artemis Accords were established in 2020 by the United States and seven other countries to set a workable set of principles to guide space exploration.

Minister of Economy and Innovation Osrin Armonayte signed the agreement to Lithuania with US Ambassador Kara C. McDonald as witness. NASA Deputy Administrator Pam Melroy welcomed Lithuania via a recorded message. US-Lithuania relations have never been stronger. From cooperation in security and defense to partnership in trade and investment, relations between our two countries continue to flourish in many areas. We extend that partnership to outer space through the Artemis Agreement.
