A baseball fan attending the College World Series has slammed ESPN for turning the camera on her while she was eating ice cream – as the photo has gone so viral that she’s been compared to the “Hawk Tua” girl.
In case you missed it … during the national championship baseball game on Monday, ESPN cameras captured two women in the stands rapidly licking ice cream, trying to finish it before it melted in the 93-degree heat.
The video spread like wildfire on social media … with people making some explicit comments about the young women, including several from the public. “Hawk Tuah” reference,
One of the female fans, who Annie J On TikTok, she has taken aim at ESPN for overly sexualizing her and other women at sporting events.
Annie revealed that as she and her friend sat down to eat ice cream, ESPN’s cameras focused on them … and she got angrier at the commentators every second. Karl Ravech and rebuked his broadcast partner for his “weird” remarks.
On the broadcast, Ravech says … “You’ve got to get it before it melts. It’s liquid.” His partner adds, “On a night like tonight, you’ve got to work fast.”
Annie says ESPN was well aware of how many people on the internet would perceive this video … and she thinks it’s another example of women not being welcome in the sports world.
In a 5-minute tirade on TikTok, he showed ESPN two birds with his feathers and took on the “weird people” who reacted to his viral post on social media.
