Chandigarh: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Leader Jagat Prakash “JP” Nadda The union was formed on Monday Health Minister Prime Minister Narendra ModiOn Monday, the Union Cabinet was formed for the second time after almost five years.

Nadda (64), who hails from Himachal Pradesh’s Bilaspur district, had earlier served as health minister from 2014 to 2019 and later succeeded Amit Shah as party’s national president in 2020.

He also held additional charge of the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers. He is the only BJP leader from Himachal Pradesh in this cabinet.

He did not contest the 2012 Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections and was instead elected to the Rajya Sabha and inducted into Modi’s 2014 cabinet.

BJP chief Nadda took oath as Union Cabinet minister in the PM Modi-led NDA government, marking his entry into the Cabinet after serving as the party since 2019.
